The Drama Queen In Me

By Drama Queen, I don’t mean drama queen, I mean dramatic, theatrical diva. I love the theatre, every day of my life is like I’m acting on the stage, I try anyway, it really helps the mental state of my mind.

 When I start stressing  over my  baby crying when I am changing his nappy I sing out and make up a few moves, even though I have sick in my hair and poo up my nails because he won’t lie still now, but insists on wriggling about.
I’m happy because I managed to sleep for an extra hour so I start singing and throw a few ‘jazz hands’, whilst my partner is trying to stir himself from the solid 8 hours sleep he has just had.


Realising that I only have 45 minutes to look half decent and get both boys ready for the school run, I grab the air with my hand (as my sister in law calls it ‘the cloud grab’ )slowly bring it down past my face, whilst singing a gentle tune, escalating into  ‘YOU CAN DO THIS’, I slide across the kitchen floor on my knees whilst playing my electric air guitar. My epic solo finale. Nailed it. And still managed to get to school on time.
Even my partner stated, whilst watching The Greatest Showman,  “ I wish life was a theatre production”,  I replied “Pal my life is a theatre production” a few spins and twirls later, adding a couple of shaky high notes for good measure, I am the main character in the new up and coming West End show.


Does anyone else do this? When  I am cooking dinner that’s when I peak, I am the greatest of great I even get a standing ovation.

Whilst reading through this, how do you picture  me? Do you think  I’m a crazy Mum who is not living in the ‘real world’, or do you think I’m just an ordinary Mum who is trying to see the funny and good side of life and is making sure her children are brought up with smiles and fun in their lives. What do you do to have fun? What is your passion in life, is it something you wished you had done, or are you actually  doing it and love it?  Please let me know.

 If I had plenty of money (after my kids) I would spend most of it on going to the theatre.
Maybe one day I will be on that stage....💃

So, over the last few years, since my little big man has been going to school, I have found out that some of us parents can be, how can I put it without possibly offending anyone, I cant, someone is going to get offended over this, extremely Rude and Ignorant.  Now! Happy FIRST birthday!!!

Happy Birthday to my little little Man, today he is one and what a  journey it has been. This is basically our birthing story and how he came into this world... So, it all started at 5.30 am, nine days after my due date, it was February 15th, 2018. I’d had a few twinges and, as time passed, they began to get more frequent.  As it was half-term I had to call my mum to come and look after little big man. I then phoned the hospital around 9.00 am after having contractions seven minutes apart. They said to come whenever as, with this being a second baby, he could come quite quick. For some reason it didn't panic me, it didn’t even panic Steve, he was so calm. I checked my bag, had a shower, did my hair and make up and was looking quite glam.
